Since 2007, Sonia Marie Leikam has been a dedicated advocate for nonprofits in both the Jewish and broader Portland communities. Prior to her position as Executive Director, she served as Vice President of Outreach at the Oregon Jewish Community Foundation (OJCF), where she built relationships with prospective fundholders and supported the acquisition of diverse charitable gifts. She has served in key roles such as Executive Director of the Oregon Holocaust Resource Center, Director of Donor Relations & Scholarships, and Collaborative Giving Coordinator at OJCF. As the facilitator for various leadership programs, including the Oregon Jewish Community Youth Foundation, Giving Circle, and the Federation’s PDX Pathways, she has brought her expertise as an educator, advocate for social justice, and community organizer. A recipient of the 2021 Laurie Rogoway Outstanding Jewish Professional Award, she also holds degrees from Lewis & Clark College and Portland State University, as well as a Certificate in Holocaust & Genocide Studies from Georgetown. Sonia Marie also co-owns Leikam Brewing, a Kosher craft brewery, and serves on the Oregon Brewers Guild board. A bilingual first-generation American and granddaughter of a French resistance fighter, she lives in Portland with her husband, three children, and five cats.
