The Foundation is committed to supporting community initiatives that align with our mission, vision, focus, and strategic priorities.

Sponsorships

The foundation will allocate approximately $20,000 annually to sponsor a limited number of community events. This fund is intended to support activities that advance community well-being and align closely with our organizational goals.

Eligibility Criteria

Organizations requesting sponsorship must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a registered non-profit, charitable, or community-based organization in the Greater Portland or SW Washington area.
  • Host an event or initiative that directly aligns with the Foundation’s:
    • Mission
    • Vision
    • Focus Areas
    • Strategic Priorities
  • Demonstrate community impact or benefit.
  • Submit a complete sponsorship request form. The IRS defines sponsorships differently from grants; therefore, each request must also be accompanied by a sponsorship benefits listing so the Foundation will be in compliance.
  • To maximize the number of organizations we can support, only one request per organization will be considered per calendar year. Organizations seeking funding for multiple events are asked to identify the event with the greatest need as opposed to submitting a single request for multiple events.
  • Sponsorships cannot be awarded retroactively.
  • Sponsorships are not recurring. Organizations that receive sponsorships in one year must reapply for subsequent years.

The Foundation does not provide sponsorship for:

  • Individuals
  • For-profit events or businesses
  • Political campaigns or lobbying efforts
  • Events misaligned with our values or strategic direction

To ensure fair distribution of sponsorship funds:

  • Typical sponsorships range from $500 to $1,000 per event.
  • The total value of all sponsorships awarded annually will not exceed $20,000.

Review Timeline

  • Requests must be submitted at least 6 weeks prior to the event date.
  • Reviews occur on a rolling basis, depending on volume and available funds.
  • Organizations submit a completed Sponsorship Request Form via email or the Foundation’s online form.
  • The request must include event details, alignment with Foundation priorities, sponsorship level requested, and expected community outcomes.
